For many, many years, the dream of connecting the Centennial Olympic Park/Pemberton Place area and the King Historic District has been on the discussed.  Finally there is an opportunity to build a streetcar that would move residents and visitors between these two great sites.  A public-private partnership has come together to apply for federal stimulus money that would help build this streetcar in Atlanta.

The Center for Civil and Human Rights is a big supporter of this effort.  Giving visitors an easy way to see all the sites of the Center, the Andrew Young Memorial Plaza, Auburn Ave, the King Center and the King Historic Site would create an incredible way for people to learn about history and today on one "ride".

I urge everyone to talk with their political leaders and get involved in this effort--   http://georgiatransitconnector.com/about/
