Mayor Shirley Franklin on why students lead the fight for Rights

Emory University recently held a week long celebration of Human Rights.  Emory Human Rights week was led by student activist Laura Emiko Soltis (great work Emiko-- she is picture, 3rd from the left with Mayor Franklin).

 

The Mayor along with Rep. John Lewis and Civil Rights legends Charles Black, Connie Curry and Lonnie King kicked off the week with a discussion regarding the vital role of students.  Here is the Emory Wheel (Emory's campus newspaper) coverage of the event.
