A few weeks ago the new Andrew Young Park and statue were unveiled in downtown Atlanta.  The event drew together a host of Atlanta past and present to celebrate Andrew Young and to celebrate the City.

Above is a short video that should give you a feel of the event.  The monument is on the corner of Andrew Young International Blvd and Spring Street just behind the Westin hotel in downtown Atlanta.

It was a special day for me as well-- my Dad who turns 75 this year and remembers the Civil Rights movement very well happened to be visiting and was able to attend the event.  We had a great time.  Here's a picture of us with Rep. John Lewis:
